BLOGATHON 2007 : Hair For Hope
    Sunday, July 15, 200711:44:00 AM 2 commento
Its the time of the year again. For this year's blogathon, I will pick Hair For Hope as my charity of choice.

Hair for Hope is an event which invites members of the public to shave their heads to show their support for children with cancer. Through this symbolic gesture, they aim to:
    • Tell every child with cancer and their their families that they are not alone in the fight
    • Help raise funds for Children’s Cancer Foundation through monetary pledges, to aid the Foundation in improving the quality of lives of our children and their families.
    • Create awareness of childhood cancer in Singapore.
    Why Shave Heads?
Patients’ hair loss, from treatments of cancer such as chemotherapy, is a representation of his or her courageous fight against cancer. Through the symbolic gesture of shaving our heads, we hope to lend moral support to all children with cancer, and to let them know that there is nothing wrong with being bald.

Are you gonna shave your head?
Erm... no. My theme will be hair related. So whip out your digicam or webcam to participate to win pledges from ME!

    How do I participate?
Show me your wackiest hairdo and just for participating, you'll get a minimum pledge from me (from $1-$5, depending how wacky your hair is) and of course I'll pimp your blog here. At the end of the event, I'll open a voting poll and the overall winner will get the maximum pledge from me.

How do I submit my photo/s?
Send them to fidainc@yahoo.com with subject heading HAIR FOR HOPE. Don't forget to include your name and blog url in it.

    Erm... I don't have a blog/I'm not a participant.
If you don't have a blog, you can still participate but the pledge will go to the charity of your choice. Yup, you pick the sponsor for me to pledge the money to.

How many photos can I submit?
Unlimited... but they must bear different hairstyles and it has to be YOU and not your family members or friends. Even so, since there will be about 48-49 post during the event, I can only accept about 45 entries so that I have enough post left to run the voting.

    What defines wacky hair?
Hair do that is done in a way is not normal, mainstream or just out of this world. If it makes me laugh, you're there!

I don't have photos of me with wacky hair!
You can do one on the spot! I'm sure that hair gel you abandoned ages ago will come in handy.

    I have no hair!
Ever thought of decorating your scalp with some homemade graffiti? LOL

    I'm really shy...
You can blur your face, additional points if you can do that and still make me laugh!

    Rules:
    1. Pictures must be in JPEG and be at least 800x600
    2. DO NOT put any text on it; I will do it, uniformly.
    3. No matter how wacky your hair is, make sure you're wearing clothes that covers your private area or I will ignore them.
    4. The amount I pledge is of good will and its up to my discretion to give you $1 or $5 or anything in between.
    5. Winners will be notified on my blog. So stay tune!
So start looking for that old hair gel and funky hair bands to get started. Any other questions you may write to me personally via my email address listed above or just comment on this post.

    Thank you and happy blogathon-ing!
