    -Happy Birthday To Me-
    Wednesday, March 28, 200710:48:00 PM 0 commento
I turn 1 at work yesterday!

A couple of girls brought me out to lunch at West Coast Park McDonalds and my manager picked me up from the office. In the car she dropped me the biggest bomb. So big I was left speechless. No, she did not fart. Its good news, very good news. I couldn't translate my happiness and excitement to my facial expression. What's the news? Not now... I am not gonna jinx it until its really happening. Toodles~

    She tagged me! *pouts*
    Monday, March 26, 200710:21:00 AM 0 commento
These are the rules: Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog!
    1. When I plugged my earphones in while walking, I must ensure I pace myself with the music otherwise my walk gets disoriented.
    2. I'm a natural born leader; I like things organised my way or no way. Haha, many of my friends would have noticed but I meant well... honest!
    3. I'm addicted to Cup Corn/Corn Cup (however you may call it) - I even made them myself at home. Actually I'm a corn fan since I was a tot.
    4. Once there's something new to watch on TV, I am almost never patient enough to wait so I'll either youtube it or download it myself. I'll be done with the whole season before it's even shown on TV.
    5. I hate text messaging. Those keypads are not made to fit my thumb so my message will usually be short, sweet and badly formed - cos' I can't be bothered like that. Next time just call me :)
That's it. I'm tagging... erm... Ellen, Haqiim, Kate, Siti and Naoko.

    Quick update

    Flight :
Booked + paid (remind self to printout confirmation email)

    Hotel :
I foresee a lengthy ping pong game with reservation issues but I'm all set; free pick-up from airport... NICE! Its pretty awesome that they actually saved my particulars in their database since in my email I didn't state my particulars at all. All I did was to check room availability. Sucks that they still refered me as Mr. Rafidah Amran, since I've already corrected them during my last trip there and they conveniently switched my room to a double instead of a twin.

    Yay-ness:

I got me a new fragrance/s from Body Shop and its so befitting since its specially mixed to fit the summer mood. Yes, I can mix and match two fragrance together to find one that suit me. Hopefully I won't find one that will be some kind of a catalyst to make me barf.

How would you like to win awesome prizes like an Apple i-Phone, PS3, designer handbags and cash prizes just by texting the lowest unique bid?

Joining Bid4Prizes will enable you to win free gifts, sweepstakes and cash prizes everyday! Bidding cam be done online or by using your mobile phone to text your unique bids. Once you bid the system will tell you whether your bid is low, high, unique, or duplicate and the game begins! Your job is to try and use the game tips given to determine the lowest unique bid which will win you the prize.

To use your cellphone to bid is as easy as texting your friends or voting for the next American Idol. Every vote counts... haha! Everytime you bid, you'll earn points which can be exchanged with prizes seen in their online store. If you want to skimp on your cellphone bill, you can also bid via online and just key in your cellphone number and bid amount after clicking the item you want to win. Simple as that and all that's left is for you to wait till the auction ends.

Unfortunately you have to be a US Citizen to play this game... very upsetting!

    Deal Or No Deal?
    Friday, March 16, 20072:21:00 PM 0 commento
I've never watched the show before but I heard many saying its a no brainer game with massive sponsors. Haha... how about trying out the game yourself online? Go over to Winzy's but its just for the fun of it, no prizes to be won unfortunately!

So you'll go through a short intro before you reach the main game page. Click on DEAL!

You'll be ask to pick a briefcase from the bunch displayed and in this case I picked 18.
You'll be asked to remove 6 briefcase away and as you do so, they will let you know how much the briefcase is worth. Here you can see, I just blew $100 grand!
After you're done removing the 6 briefcases, a virtual banker will contact you offering a price on the briefcase you had picked initially. Its up to you to make or refuse the deal.
So I virtually won $56 grand but they will also piss you off agian by showing the amount you're giving up.
See... that's why I only stick to the online version cos' if its the real thing, I would have smashed my head against something very sharp!
Winzy has other stuff going on too if you're interested to play to win prizes like an iPods, Wiis. Xbox, Amazon Gift Certificates etc. Go to the sign up link here.

My curiousity grew stronger after looking at the website about the nose job in the previous entry. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going under the knife but after watching so many episodes of "I Want A Famous Face", I wanna know more! Damn that show is addictive!

LA's Revision Rhinoplasty Specialist has comprehensive information about rhinoplasty revision that one need to know before and after the precedure.

You can browse the before and after photos to see how various surgeries help to make you, erm, make you look like whoever you want or just make yourself better looking.

    Short-sighted hazard
    Tuesday, March 13, 20071:39:00 PM 0 commento

Rose McGowan was in a car accident a few weeks ago and the accident pushed her glasses into her face, slicing into it. She was scared of scarring but found an excellent plastic surgeon. She says:

I didn't realize I was hurt until I put my hand to my face and felt the flap of skin. My glasses had sliced me under my eye.

I got the news from the New York Post Online. For any of you who happen to be in the same boat (in the same car more likely) please remember that your face can messed up anytime if McGowan is driving as she must be blind as a bat. In case you need one, you can check out Naples cosmetic surgeon, so start saving your money now.

    While I was busy playing...
    Sunday, March 11, 20078:17:00 PM 0 commento
... I stumbled upon something interesting. I've been messing around with Wikimapia for a while but never thought of exploring places I wish I could visit myself. On the map I found the Bermuda Triangle, the Ghost Ship and the best one of all, I found Neverland Ranch! While I'm at it, I found out where Michael Jackson lives. Haha, there's plenty of vandalism on that map and Mr. MJ had a fair share of vandalism as well. I was referring to his messed up surgeries.

Feelin' bored, I investigated further on this surgery and found a comprehensive website on Revision Rhinoplasty (which features pretty disturbing images by the way). So bad, I feel terrible for people who had went through with the surgery. This procedure is like an 'in case' surgery when things do go wrong after a nose surgery and no doubt this damage control procedure is required for at least 5-12% of patients who had went through the rhinoplasty.

This specialist from Los Angeles Revision Rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills, CA, talks about how a person could prevent going through the gruesome revision surgery again and how important it is for your doctor to identify the risk involve in the precedure. You can view his 'masterpieces' a.k.a. the before and after images in the photo gallery (no cut up nose images present here, so for those with a weak heart, this link is safe for viewing).

Wacko Jacko, if you're reading my blog, please visit the webpage and contact the medical center. Your nose is in need of a 'makeover'!

    SD: Shopping Discovery
    Saturday, March 10, 20071:21:00 PM 0 commento
I was browsing DiscoverSD website featuring everything and anything related to San Diego (hmm maybe Singapore should have a website like this). When it comes to the USA my main interest have to be shopping (for obvious reasons, DOH!) and my mouse pointer automatically trails its way to the shopping tab.

Out of the 30 stores listed, I virtually push the doors to shops like Urban Outfitters, Matti D, The Puma Store and many more. Unfortunately the site does not link the listings to the stores' own website (either that or maybe they don't own one maybe?).

Come to think of it, I don't think San Diego is that big on shopping. But... if I shift my mouse pointer to click on the nightlife tab, you will know instantly people in that area loves to party! Retailers should consider making their way there as you can't party without the razzle mannizle bling bling outfit!

If you're from SD, please correct me if I'm wrong in this area.

    My indian shopkeeper
    Friday, March 09, 200711:05:00 AM 0 commento
Last night, a nice Indian shopkeeper (mama shop) attended to me when I wanna make my purchase. While waiting for me to dig my wallet, he mentioned that I should get Ruffles chips cos' they're having a promotion where they'll knock off S$4 off cinema tickets. I wanted to get that sinful bag of chips. Not because I want to stuff calories into my tub o' lard form, but just to acknowledge that this is the first time he had tried to make a sale with me. We usually just exchange smiles or the usual "how much?". Unfortunately that day my wallet decide to disagree with the man. Tonight... I'll be back!

I was browsing the net aimlessly and landed on a hair transplant website and I immediately thought of that indian man. Haha! I can, in one breathe, name all the people I know who is in need of this surgery. Most of them I know has hair thinning problem starting from the side of the crown receeding to the centre back leaving a tiny 'island in the centre front. Very Bruce Willis don't you think? If you can see it in a positively way, good for you, otherwise I might suggest you do something about it. Oh by the way, these people I have in mind are not over 35 years old yet!

Unfortunately, women are not spared from this phenomenon. From the website I discovered treatments available for the ladies too.
For women, the losing of hair is often very distressing. Most cases of hair loss in women are due to inherited female pattern balding, but medical conditions can also be involved, such as low thyroid levels, hormonal imbalances such as elevated testosterone, binge dieting, and pregnancy. Another cause of hair loss in women is the distortion of hair growth and scarring as a result of prior facial plastic surgery.
I better start to be careful as lately I've been losing a lot of hair but I believe mine is because of poor diet and also my hair is screaming for a trim. Its ok... I've got plenty of hair to spare :P I believe these problems will be more common for those over the age of 45 maybe? The before-and-after photos are pretty gruesome... I'm kinda worried now... no, wait... I shouldn't... hmmm....

    Feelin' queasy...
    Thursday, March 08, 200711:08:00 AM 0 commento
Can you believe up to date I am still not insured? Can you believe I am living day to day dangerously and not worrying about mishaps that may occur to me which may burden myself or my family or love ones? Do you want to know why?

Insurance agent in Singapore are pushy, manipulative and love to shove costly policies that you don't need! I've had it with them but at the same time I have no idea what kind of coverage I actually wanted. So I googled around and found this website called Insurance Portal Online. Hmmm... how appropriate.

Unfortunately I am non US citizen otherwise this baby would have help me alot! Imagine me stepping in one of the establised insurance hub here and approach one agent and go like "Hey you, get me a life insurance policy worth US$500,000 with XXX company where I only need to pay a premium of US$XX for a 10 year plan. That's my budget so get to it!"

In reality, agent XX will whip out folders after folders selling me something I may or may not need. Or worse, policies that I cannot afford! Yes they will be useful if I break a leg or stop breathing but till then I need to pay for food and bills to continue breathing and breaking legs. I can say only a small number out there who really listen to me... where are you!?!

I know I will get roped up by one of them one day. In my plan right now probably to work on having at least 3 policies: my own life insurance, home insurance and I'd probably buy one for my kid/s if I have any in future. Its a lot cheaper for them to start early :)

Till I find that 'special someone', I shall live on the edge.

Any agents out there reading this, bugger off, my answer will always be the same.. I'M NOT INTERESTED!. Go bug someone else who can help you achieve your quotas.

    Addicted to interruptions
    Monday, March 05, 200711:41:00 AM 0 commento
**WARNING** Lengthy update in this entry.

So Lindsay was in town and we met up only once during her 2 weeks trip here. Unfortunately our schedule clash pretty badly. Suppose to see her off yesterday but I was caught up in something else and wouldn't be able to make it to the airport in time, unless I take the cab of course, which will cost me a hell lot more for the extra airport surcharge blah blah. So sorry Linz! I really want to be there. Maybe not really for you but for Popeye! I miss those damn chickies!

So the one and only time we met I had to drag her all the way out of town and in Toa Payoh Hub... feelin' heartlanders. I was already there during lunch hour with Clifford who wouldn't budge, refusing to go back to work. Haqiim and Lindsay join us an hour later and we continued to hung out there while waiting for Lianne to arrive. Clifford eventually made his exit, of course.

Oh yes, why are we there, of all places? Well, my colleague gave me 4 tickets to catch live show of Dancefloor (reality show alike 'So You Think You Can Dance'). It blows! But we had fun comparing the place from what it had looked like many years ago when I was very active in making my trips to Mediacorp. Anyway its a short cab journey and the fare was on Haqiim. So what the heck!

After wasting 2 hours (or 3 maybe?) watching something I swear I will never watch again ever, we rode the bus all the way to Harbourfront, since my friends doesn't know how to go home from that place. Lindsay, Haqiim and myself took the North East Line to Clarke Quay to 'escort' Lindsay to be reunited with her friend. Apparently Singapore already seemed foreign to her.

I also met up with Charly a few days later for dinner. It was nice. He's still the same old Charly. I wish him the best for his intership here and pray he will not come back. Too many annoying people in my life already, I can do without this one. Hehe... va te faire foutre!!

The company organised a chinese new year dinner held 5 mins (on foot) away from my place. The last time I was in that building was when I was still in Kindergarten... one of those mini-concerts the kids put up to make our parents clap, smile and be proud of what their kids had learnt from the school. It had changed sooooo much (like DOH!) from being just a multi purpose hall to a chinese restaurant... I think its a restaurant.

Food was served pretty late and I filled my very empty stomach with beer... cold beer. It kinda spoil the whole night cos' after that I felt really horrible. Went to the ladies and vomitted... beer. Just beer. Awesome part of the night was the lucky draw. Everyone walked away with something. No one left the place empty handed, unless they had forgotten to take the prize back with them. I won a bluetooth headset which I don't really need and exchanged it with a Microsoft webcam.

At that point I had aspired to be like the red paper clip fella who exchange something worthless until he got himself a house. I exchanged a $30-40 bluetooth headset with a $160 webcam. I went round the room to change with other expensive items and got turned down... hard. I even use the excuse of my new aspiration but to no avail. Damn it! I was aiming that 20 inch LCD monitor!

Walked home slowly while hugging my new webcam and the moment I reach home, I was... erm... crazy enough to start installing it while being irritated by the spinning room. It worked fine. Much better than my previous one. See my new webcam shot on your right. So now my old webcam is up for loan... till I broke my new one. Any takers? Haha!

And today... Santa dropped by and look what he had left me!

    Droolz!~~~

That's it! My weekend is fully booked! No update till my review is out!
